About the Regulations for Maintaining Ethics and Safety in the Life Sciences and Other Research Fields at Kyoto University
These regulations stipulate provisions for maintaining ethics and safety in research in the life sciences and related fields so as to ensure proper implementation of applicable projects. All faculty, staff, and students engaged in such research must comply with these and other University regulations as well as endeavoring to maintain ethical conduct and self-discipline.
In the event of a serious ethics- or safety-related incident, such as one involving a research rule violation, which has already occurred or is likely to occur, the regulations require that the dean/director of the department in charge promptly report the matter to the University President.
