The National Health Insurance (NHI) does not fully cover fees for the treatment of injuries that arise from accidents, and damages which you may cause to someone else's property or another person.
Unanticipated situations such as accidents or illnesses may result in an overwhelming financial burden.
Enrolling in an insurance program is, therefore, highly recommended.

Bicycle insurance compensates for damages in case of injury or death to others while riding a bicycle or compensation for medical expenses incurred in case of injury.
For Kyoto University international students
If you have enrolled in the Kyoto University CO-OP’s Personal Liability Insurance, you do not need to enroll in the extra bicycle insurance.
