On 3 April, the International Education and Student Mobility Division, together with student Peer Tutors, held an event called "Exchange Students Meet-up!" at the Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences Building.

Kyoto University maintains university-level student exchange agreements with approximately 150 partner institutions worldwide and hosts around 300 exchange students annually. In the spring semester of 2025, it welcomed 112 new exchange students.

The 3 April event provided an opportunity for these new students to interact with those who had enrolled in the previous semester, as well as with KyotoU students interested in international exchange.

Approximately 200 participants — about 140 from partner universities and 60 from KyotoU — rotated seats every 10 minutes to speak with as many people as possible.

The event allowed students to make new friends from around the world, with some exchanging contact information and later going out together to view the cherry blossoms.
