The 2016-2017 Degree Conferment Ceremony was held 23 March at Miyako Messe (Kyoto International Exhibition Hall) with executive vice-presidents, deans, and other faculty and staff in attendance.
A total of 2,191 students received master's degrees, 147 professional master's degrees, 131 juris doctor degrees, and 555 doctoral degrees (503 by coursework and 52 by thesis, awarded on 24 November 2016, 23 January 2017, and 23 March 2017).
The class of 2017 also included 14 who completed Programs for Leading Graduate Schools, inaugurated in 2012.
In the ceremony, President Yamagiwa administered the degree certificates and delivered a congratulatory address.
