About the Kyoto University President's Award
Kyoto University President's Award annually recognizes students and student organizations that contributed to redounding the University's prestige through their achievements in academic, extracurricular, and public-service activities as defined below.
- Highly esteemed accomplishments that resulted from academic or research activities
- Excellent results achieved at nationwide competitions or contests in extracurricular activities
- Exemplary actions taken in the course of performing volunteer services, or activities that received public recognition
- Other achievements and actions comparable to the above and deemed worthy of the President's Award

Award recipients are selected by Kyoto University's President from among the candidates nominated by the University's faculty, staff, and students, and screened by the Student Award Screening Committee.
Nomination process
Candidates can be nominated by the University's faculty, staff, and students (self-nominations allowed). Nomination documents must include the specified form (provided below) and supporting materials, and be emailed to the office below.
Nominations for the 2024–2025 award are open until Friday 13 December 2024.
