On 24 April, a five-member delegation from Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan, visited KyotoU's Faculty of Medicine. The group was headed by Professor Yin-Chun Tien, dean of the KMU College of Medicine, and Professor Rei-Cheng Yang, vice-director of the KMU Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital. Their hosts at Kyoto included Professor Kazuhiro Iwai, dean of the Faculty/Graduate School of Medicine, and Professor Akifumi Takaori, vice-director of the University Hospital.
The KyotoU Faculty/Graduate School of Medicine and the KMU College of Medicine concluded a student exchange agreement in 2014, and have since actively collaborated in undergraduate clinical training and other programs.
During the 24 April meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the possible expansion of their partnership, and then took part in a signing ceremony to renew their existing agreement.
