Kyoto U signs partnership agreement with TOYO SHINYAKU (29 June 2017)

Kyoto University and TOYO SHINYAKU Co Ltd have singed an agreement to cooperate and collaborate on health foods and cosmetics research, and exploring seeds for new businesses, with the goal of creating new markets for these products for the benefit of society

The signing ceremony and the press conference took place at the International Science Innovation Building, where Shinji Asonuma, Kyoto University's executive vice-president for industry-government-academia collaboration and director of the KU Office of Society-Academia Collaboration for Innovation, and Toshimitsu Hattori, representative director at TOYO, signed the agreement and expressed high expectations for the partnership.

The collaboration involves strategically evaluating the University's diverse and innovative research seeds, and utilizing TOYO's business expertise and product planning capability. The two organizations hope to work together to initiate and carry out research aimed at developing and commercializing new functional materials for health foods and cosmetics.
