Kyoteiko Hiroba, Partner Universities Square: lunchtime events for inbound/outbound exchange students (7 and 8 June 2017)

發表日期

On 7 and 8 June 2017, the International Education and Student Mobility Division, together with the International Academic Research and Resource Center for Language Education (iARRC), Institute for Liberal and Arts and Science (ILAS), held events entitled Kyoteiko Hiroba, or "Partner Universities Square", at the ILAS Building.

Kyoteiko Hiroba promotes interaction among students going to and from institutions partnered with Kyoto University. It is also a chance for those interested in studying abroad to learn about available opportunities, and helps exchange students develop deeper connections with Kyoto University and Japan.

Over two days, exchange students from partner universities delivered presentations, either in English or in Japanese, on their home universities and countries: The University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, McGill University (Canada), Australian National University, University of Sydney, and University of New South Wales (Australia). Presentations were followed by informal discussions, where attendees enjoyed international networking over lunch.

The events attracted a total of 71 students -- including 13 from 7 different countries -- indicating an increased interest among KU students in studying abroad.

The next Kyoteiko Hiroba is scheduled for 6 and 7 December in the fall semester.
