On 8-9 February 2017, the 12th University Administrators Workshop (UAW) took place at the Clock Tower Centennial Hall, providing opportunities for university staff in charge of international programs to share ideas and best practices for internationalization, discuss common issues, and deepen their mutual understanding.

The Workshop was themed "Building Sustainable Relationships: Developing and Maintaining Effective Internal and External Communication", and was attended by approximately 100 participants from 28 overseas and five Japanese institutions, including Kyoto University.

Chaired by Professor Yukari Mitsuhashi, vice-director of Kyoto University's International Strategy Office, the event opened with greetings from Professor Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations.
