Three KU students awarded the FY2014 JSPS Ikushi Prize (30 January 2015)

Three Kyoto University doctoral students have been selected to receive the FY2014 Ikushi Prize from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place Wednesday 4 March at The Japan Academy (Nippon Gakushi-in) in Tokyo.

Established in 2010, the JSPS Ikushi Prize annually recognizes outstanding doctoral students -- ones who are expected to play a major role in the advancement of academic research in Japan -- with the aim of increasing their enthusiasm for research and contributing to their career development.

Ms Li, Mr Kubo, and Mr Hayakawa are among 18 individuals selected as recipients of the Ikushi Prize for FY2014. Held for the fifth consecutive year, the selection process for the Ikushi Prize involves stringent screening of nominations by a committee comprised of university presidents and other experts.
