A group of congressional staff members from the US House of Representatives, led by Cesar A. Gonzalez, visited Kyoto University.
Comprised of seven congressional staff members from the US House of Representatives, the group visited the Seifuso Villa under the guidance of Dean Shigeo Fujii (Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies). At Seifuso, they exchanged views with faculty staff members from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies on topics of high interest for the two countries, such as science and technology policies, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the environmental and economic impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and energy and nuclear issues. Discussing also the possibilities of future coalition and collaboration between US government organizations and Kyoto University, the meeting turned out to be a meaningful opportunity.
