Aya Nakama wins the 31st Kajima Foundation for the Arts Award (14 May 2024)

Program-Specific Associate Professor Aya Nakama of the Hakubi Center for Advanced Research/Graduate School of Letters won the 31st Kajima Foundation for the Arts Award (Western Art Division).

Established in 1994 for the promotion of art research, the Kajima Foundation for the Arts Award is one of the few and most prestigious recognition programs of its kind in Japan.

Dr Nakama was cited for her research on the manuscript artworks and sculptures of Bamberg Cathedral, which are regarded as masterpieces of German medieval art.

The award ceremony featuring her commemorative lecture was held 14 May 2024 in Tokyo.
