The completion ceremony for the 2023 Kyoto iUP Preparatory Course took place 29 March 2024 at the Yoshida International House, with 17 course graduates taking part. Many of the faculty members involved in the six-month program also participated to congratulate the students.

The event began with a congratulatory speech by Professor Hiroshi Kokubu, Kyoto University's executive vice president for education, student affairs, and admissions, followed by Professor Hisashi Miyagawa, director of the Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS), who presented each student with a completion certificate.

Afterward, six of the graduates, each representing one of the proficiency-based Japanese-language classes held as part of the preparatory course, delivered acknowledgement speeches, thanking the faculty and staff involved and describing their experiences during the previous six months, including helping and being helped by their classmates in preparing for the next phase of their university life.

As in the previous year, the event included the showing of a video message from senior iUP students, with warm words of congratulations that clearly encouraged the course participants.

Lastly, Professor Shinji Hasebe, Kyoto iUP's program manager, delivered closing remarks, as the course graduates listened with excitement and anticipation for their first undergraduate year beginning in April.
