Kyoto University accepts exchange students from about 150 institutions under university-level student exchange agreements.
From 3 to 7 April, Student Lounge 'KI-ZU-NA' (KIZUNA) hosted its 'welcome week' for new incoming students from these institutions as part of its monthly event series. A total of 112 eligible students visited the facility's reading room over the five days to receive their 'welcome packets', containing a student ID card and a set of information materials, from KIZUNA's student tutors and staff.
Many of the students seemed excited about their new chapter in life as they listened to the tutors' guidance on how to prepare for the upcoming semester in Kyoto.
