KIZUNA's May event is a bamboo basketry class, taught by professional craftsmen from Yokoyama Bamboo Products & Co.
Participants will be making a shikainamihana-style basket, designed after a four-petaled, wave-patterned flower, and considered relatively easy to weave.
The class will be beginner-friendly with easy-to-understand, step-by-step guidance provided by the instructors. Get hands on experience in the traditional methods of basket making. The finished basket can be taken home as a souvenir. Put flowers in it, use it as a display piece, or discover other uses for it yourself.
This will also be a great opportunity to experience Japanese traditional crafts and make new friends. KIZUNA looks forward to your participation.
