On 4 September, the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GSGES) held a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of its Hanoi office, located at Hanoi University of Science and Technology's (HUST's) School of Environmental Science and Technology (INEST). The ceremony was held as part of INEST's 20th anniversary celebration, which coincided with the eighth International Forum on Green Technology and Management (IFGTM), held 4-5 September at HUST's Ta Quang Buu Library. Attending from GSGES were eight officials including Dean Shinya Funakawa, Professors Shigeo Fujii and Yoshizumi Kaji, and Associate Professors Izuru Saizen and Yosuke Sakamoto.

The eighth IFGTM opened with remarks from HUST Vice President Dinh Van Phong, followed by INEST Dean Nghiem Trung Dung reflecting on the school's 20-year history. GSGES Dean Funakawa and several guests then delivered congratulatory remarks.

Next, the GSGES office's 10th anniversary ceremony commenced with a congratulatory address from Dr Huynh Trung Hai, former INST dean and HUST's current director of science and technology. GSGES Professor Fujii followed this with a report on the office's 10 years of achievements in education and research. The ceremony then concluded with a commemorative photo shoot.

In the evening, during a reception for IFGTM participants, GSGES Dean Funakawa presented a "Certificate of Appreciation" crystal plaque to each of the three local officials who made key contributions to the Hanoi office's operations: HUST's Science and Technology Director Hai, and INEST's Dean N Dung and Lecturer Nguyen Pham Hong Lien. In return, INST Dean Dung presented GSGES Dean Funakawa with a certificate of appreciation and commemorative gift.

Almost every year, HUST-INST accepts interns from GSGES, while GSGES hosts auditors and exchange students from HUST. With their anniversary ceremonies having concluded successfully, this partnership is anticipated to grow actively in the coming years.
