On 2 July, Kyoto University's Graduate School of Medicine and Johnson & Johnson Innovation, a division of Johnson & Johnson (China) Investment Ltd, signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) on healthcare research collaboration.
Under the MoU, the Graduate School and Johnson & Johnson Innovation will seek to identify and accelerate innovative early-stage research with the potential to address patient needs in Japan and around the world. Johnson & Johnson hopes to support promising KyotoU projects by sharing its development experiences and knowledge related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer products, and vision care.
The signing ceremony took place at KyotoU in the presence of the Graduate School's Dean Shinji Uemoto and Specially Appointed Professor Yutaka Teranishi. They were joined with Dr Dan Wang, head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific; Mr Tamotsu Hiiro, president, Johnson & Johnson KK; and Dr Kenji Nonaka, head of R&D, Janssen Pharmaceutical KK.
