On 1 August, Dr Ova Emilia, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, paid a visit to Dr Shinji Uemoto, dean of the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine.
In 2015, UGM's Faculty of Medicine and Sardjito Hospital concluded a department-level academic exchange agreement with the KU Faculty of Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, and the Hospital. The two sides have since collaborated on projects such as the 2016 UGM summer program, where faculty from the KU Graduate School of Medicine delivered lectures on public health.
The 1 August meeting explored further opportunities for collaboration, including liver transplant training that Kyoto U could provide to UGM, as well as other educational programs.
