The following assistance is available to students affected by the earthquake that occurred in central Tottori Prefecture on 21 October 2016.
1. 2017 first-semester tuition exemption
Those unable to pay the 2017 first-semester tuition due to earthquake damage may be eligible for a full or partial exemption, depending on the extent of the damage sustained.
How to apply
Applications will be accepted beginning March 2017. Details will be posted on this website as they become available.
2. Financial assistance from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)
Those whose places of residence have been completely or partially destroyed in the earthquake, resulting in a suspension of their studies, may be eligible for financial assistance from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).
Application deadline
Up to three months from the month after the damage in question occurred.
