On 9 June, two Thai-based alumni associations -- Thai Hyakumanben Kai, comprised mainly of Japanese residents, and the Kyoto Union Club (KUC), whose members are mostly Thai -- held a joint exchange meeting with 37 participants. They were joined by Kyoto University President Juichi Yamagiwa and Professor Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, after the 3rd ASEAN-Japan Workshop held earlier in the day.
Thai Hyakumanben Kai's Chairman Krisada Visavateeranon (Faculty of Engineering 1973) delivered the opening remarks, followed by President Yamagiwa and Professor Inaba greeting the crowd. The participating alumni then introduced themselves one by one, sharing personal updates and memories of their student days. The event wrapped up on a high note after everyone sang together "Biwako Shuko no Uta (Lake Biwa Rowing Song)".
