On 3-4 June, Kyoto University's Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) held its 21st International Symposium "Emerging Science for Unlocking Cell's Secrets" at the iCeMS Main Building.
Exploring the integration of chemical and cell biology, the Symposium was comprised of five sessions, each chaired by two iCeMS researchers. Over two days, 16 up-and-coming scientists, including some from California, Beijing, and Hong Kong, delivered talks on their research, each leading to a lively discussion. About 80 researchers attended from the University and elsewhere.
The first day ended with a networking dinner, where the researchers discussed possible collaboration and other topics in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The Symposium concluded successfully with iCeMS Deputy Director Motonari Uesugi, the Organizing Chair, saying in his closing remarks, "This meeting has been highly meaningful in building a picture of the future of iCeMS."
