On 29 October, a joint debriefing session was held for students who had recently taken part in either of two John Mung programs hosted by the University of Oxford: Special Summer School Program and Short-Term English Literature Research Program.
The session began with a presentation by two students who had participated in the English Literature program. They discussed, among other topics, the styles of research and study that they had observed at one of the world's premier universities; attitudes and goals of Oxford students and how they differed from those of their Japanese counterparts; and how the experience of studying in a foreign country had contributed to their own self-analysis and self-improvement.
Next, participants in the Special Summer School Program described what they had learned through attending intensive English and academic classes, and what they had gained from living in the English city.
The three-hour session concluded with comments from John Mung Programs coordinator Professor Ruchira Palihawadana of the International Center, Organization for the Promotion of International Relations (OPIR).
