Professor Isamu Akasaki, a graduate of Kyoto University's Faculty of Science, attended the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in Stockholm on 10 December 2014 and received his medal for this year's Nobel Prize in Physics.
At the Award Ceremony, held at Stockholm Concert Hall, Professor Akasaki was presented with the Nobel Prize medal and diploma from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
Following the ceremony, the traditional Nobel Banquet was held at Stockholm's City Hall.
