CSEAS to merge with CIAS with Yasuyuki Kono as director (29 November 2016)

On 29 November, Kyoto University announced that the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) will merge with the Center for Integrated Area Studies (CIAS), effective 1 January 2017.

Professor Yasuyuki Kono (land resource, water resource, livelihood transition, and sustainable humanosphere), current CSEAS director, will lead the new organization for its first 15 months. It will also be called CSEAS.
