- As a rule, tuition is to be paid in two installments: in May and in November. The first semester tuition is paid in May, while the second semester tuition is paid in November.
- A bank transfer application will be sent to the address of the person acting as the student’s guarantor around the middle of May and November. Payments should be made by bank transfer into the account designated by the University.
- Should tuition fees be revised during a student’s period of enrollment, the new amount will become effective from that point on.
Admission fee
- The admission fee should be paid at the time of registration.
Entrance examination fee
- The Entrance examination fee should be paid at the time an application for admission is submitted.
Tuition exemption
- Regular undergraduate and regular graduate students of excellent academic standing who are facing financial difficulties, may be eligible for an exemption of all or half of the tuition fee.
- For further details, please refer to [ Tuition exemption and admission fee exemption/deferment ].
- Although the application for an exemption is open to all students, there is a limit to the number of exemptions granted.
- Students coming from abroad to study at Kyoto University are advised to have sufficient funds before arriving in Japan.
